Election board meeting and May 19th General Primary/Nonpartisan Election Certification will be Friday May 22nd, 2025, at The Peach County Court House at 4:00 PM located at 205 W Church St. Fort Valley Ga., 31030

In Accordance with O.C.G.A 21-2-265 Claude Precinct has been moved. Voter’s south of Lakeview Rd. will report to the Anna Lumpkin Auditorium at 700 Spruce. St., Fort Valley Ga. 31030 Voters North of Lakeview Rd will report to the Byron Municipal Complex at 401 Main St. Byron Ga., 31008

In Accordance with O.C.G.A 21-2-265 Powersville Precinct has been moved. Voters West of the 247 Connector will report to the Peach County Government Center located at 902 Campus Dr. Fort Valley Ga., 31030 and Voters East of the 247 Connector will report to the Byron Municipal Complex at 401 Main St. Byron Ga., 31008.

Peach County Elections Board Meeting will be held April 17, 2026, at 4:00 pm at the Peach County Courthouse located at 205 W. Church St. Fort Valley Ga., 31030.

In accordance with O.C.G.A 21-2-386, Peach County Elections office will start early tabulation and processing of voting ballots for the May 19th General Primary/Nonpartisan Election at 4:00pm on May 19th, 2026, at the Peach County Government Center located at 902 Campus Dr., Fort Valley Ga., 31030.

Logics and Accuracy testing for May 19th General Primary/Nonpartisan election will be held on March 28th, 2026, at The Peach County Government Center located at 902 Campus Dr. Fort Valley Ga., 31030. Logics and Accuracy will start at 10:00 am until.

Early voting will be held at the Peach County Government Center located at 902 Campus Dr. Fort Valley Ga., 31030 and also the Byron Municipal Complex located at 401 main st. Byron, Ga., 31008. Early Voting starts April 27th , 2026, until May 15th, 2026.

Certification For the February 17th, 2026, Senate 18 District will be February 19th, 2026, at 4:00Pm at the Fort Valley Courthouse located at 205 W Church St., Fort Valley Ga., 31030.

The General Primary Election/Nonpartisan Election for Peach County will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, for the purpose of School Board Post 2, School Board Post 4, and School Board Post 5, and Commissioner Post 2, Commissioner Post 4. Early Voting will start April 27, 2026, and end on May 15th, 2026. The early voting Locations will be The Peach County Government Center 902 Campus Dr. Fort Valley, Ga., 31030 and Byron Municipal Complex 401 Main St. Byron Ga., 31008.

Qualifying Will begin on March 2, 2026, 9:00am through March 6th, 2026, 12:00pm.

Anyone wishing to qualify for these positions will need to file a notice of candidacy and pay the set Qualifying fee. The qualifying fee for School Board candidates is $180.00, and the Qualifying fee for Commissioner is $270.00

Due to Inclement Weather over the weekend Logics and Accuracy testing for February 17th, 2026 Senate District 18 will be January 30th, 2026 from 11:00 am until Logics and Accuracy will be February 1st, 2026, for The February 17th Special Election Senate 18th District. Starting at 10:00 am until at the Peach County Government Center located at 902 Campus Dr. Fort Valley Ga., 31030.

Early Voting For the Special Election for Senate 18th District Runoff will be February 9th, 2026, through February 13th, 2026. Early Voting Locations will be The Peach Government 902 Campus Dr. Fort Valley Ga. 31030 and The Byron Municipal Complex 401 Main St., Byron Ga., 31008. The Voting times will be from 8:00 am until 5:00pm.

All Precincts will be open on election Day February 17th, 2026, From 7:00 am until 7:00 pm.

There will be an Elections Board Meeting on January 22nd, 2026, at The Peach County Courthouse 205 W Church St. Fort Valley Ga., 31030 at 4:00 PM. Certification of January 20th, 2026, Senate District 18 Election. Discussion Will include precincts closures of Powersville 6711 Peach Pkwy, Byron, Ga. 31008 and Claude 10660 Miami Valley Rd, Fort Valley Ga., 31030. The citizens of Peach County are welcomed to voice input on the closures.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 4th day of November, 2025, an election will be held at the regular polling places in all the election districts of Peach County, Georgia (“the County”), at which time there will be submitted to the qualified voters of the county for their determination the question of whether each resident of Peach County should be granted an exemption on such person’s homestead from Peach County ad valorem taxes for county purposes in the amount of l O percent of the assessed value of that homestead for the exclusive purpose of providing property tax relief to the taxpayer’s of the County specified in the form of the ballot set forth below.

COUNTY HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION
“() Yes           Shall the Act be approved which provides a homestead exemption from Peach County ad valorem taxes for county purposes in the amount of 10 percent of the assessed value of the homestead for residents of that county?
() No”
          All qualified voters desiring to vote in favor of the homestead exemption shall vote “Yes” and all qualified voters opposed to the homestead exemption shall vote “No.” If more than one­ half of the votes case are in favor of the homestead exemption then the exemption shall be applied to all taxable years beginning January I, 2026.

           NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 4th day of November, 2025, an election will be held at the regular polling places in all the election districts of Peach County, Georgia (“the County”), at which time there will be submitted to the qualified voters of the county for their determination the question of whether a one percent county floating local option sales and use tax (the “FLOST”) shall be imposed on all sales and uses in the special district created in the County for a period of FIVE (5) years for the exclusive purpose of providing property tax relief to the taxpayer’s of the County and qualified municipalities within the county specified in the form of the ballot set forth below.
COUNTY ONE PERCENT SALES AND USE TAX
“() Yes            Shall a special one percent sales and use tax be imposed in the special district of Peach County for a period of five (5) years for the purpose of providing property tax relief?
() No”
          All qualified voters desiring to vote in favor of continuing the tax shall vote “Yes” and all qualified voters opposed to continuing the tax shall vote “No.” If more than one-half of the votes case are in favor of imposing the tax then the tax shall be imposed beginning January 1, 2026, or the earliest date authorized by law.

Notice of Election

City of Fort Valley (Correction)The General Election for the City of Fort Valley will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, for the purpose of electing City Council East Ward, City Council West Ward, City Council At Large, East Ward Utilities Post1, Utilities at Large Post 3, and the Mayor seats. The election will take place at the Thomas Public Library 315 MLK Jr Dr. Fort Valley, Ga, 31030. The Polls open at 7:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM.

Qualifying Will begin on August 18, 2025, at 8:30 AM and will close on August 22, 2025, at 4:30PM.

Anyone wishing to qualify for these positions will need to file a notice of candidacy and pay the set Qualifying fee. The qualifying fee for Council Member candidates is $360.00, the fee for the Utilities is $360.00 and the Fee for the Mayor is $540.00.

City of Byron
The City of Byron General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, for Council Post 3, Council Post 4, and Council Post 5.  Qualifying fees for this election will be $90.00 for members of council.

These fees are 3 percent of the total gross salary of the office paid in the preceding calendar year.

Qualifying will be held on August 18, 19, and 20, 2025, between the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Pursuant to O.C.G.A.21-2-291 and 21-2-325, notice was given that the City of Byron General Election scheduled for November 4, 2025 was cancelled, since the following candidates qualified for office and were unopposed; therefore, they were deemed to have voted for themselves.

For City Council Post 5: Alan C. Dorsey

Michael S. Chumbley is elected to serve in Council Post 3, term to expire December 31, 2029.
